Cactus Sew-Ables - Yucca Valley, CA
Meetings:
The Guild meets every month on the first Monday except September when we meet on the second Monday. The Guild is dark during the months of July and August.
Location:
Meetings are held at the Yucca Valley Community Center, 57090 Twentynine Palms HIghway, (north of highway off Dumosa) in Yucca Valley at 1:00 p.m. Visitors welcome!
The Guild was founded in 1986 and currently has a membership of 156 members.
The Guild was formed to promote, exchange, inspire and teach ideas, designs and techniques in a friendly and social atmosphere to those who are interested in quilting and fiber arts.
In addition to a monthly meeting, the Guild features noted guest speakers at many of the meetings. These experts in the quilting world teach new ideas and techniques to enhance the members quilting skills.
The Cactus Sew-Ables Quilt Guild raises money to support local community outreach programs. Members make baby quilts for the Pregnancy Center and Unity Home; lap robes for seniors, shut-ins, Hospice; and teddy bears for children in trauma. Additionally, the Guild provides cash donations to other outreach programs in the Morongo Basin
